Bruno—without question, the Merrye family's most loyal manservant—joined the Merrye household ages ago as Master Titus Merrye's personal chauffeur. However, thanks to the rapidly declining physiological and psychological states of the members of the Merrye family—and, in turn, the declining mental stability of their staff—steadfast Bruno swiftly rose through the ranks to ultimately cement his position as default leader of the surviving Merrye clan, comprised of the children Ralph, Elizabeth and Virginia.
